Pasi accepted the party invite. "Any other day I'd be saying 'the harder the better', but I'd rather get a feel for my attacks first. If we can do a quick tutorial run or something similar, I'd happily take the hard dungeon afterwards." "Also, I'm Pasiphae. And since we've all got shorter nicknames, call me... Pasi." Pasi? That sounded horrible. Why did she even ever choose this name to begin with? Mother of minotaur, too late to change that.

Mal doesn't like it much either. "Can I call you Siph?" he asks, half-joking.

Syn holds back a small laugh as she sees Pasi... or Pasiphae, show dislike to the nickname she herself came up with. 'I guess we all really didn't think when we came up with our usernames' she thought, smiling slightly. To get her mind off the topic, before she starts giggling like some sort of mad-man, she pulled out the news feed and map once again, and searched for a tutorial area. Syn would have usually gone to the fields near the Northlands Reigion, but they were quite far away, and the trip there now costs a ton. Clicking her tongue, a slightly bad habit seeing how it can get very annoying, she scrolled the news feed looking for somewhere not too far away. Perfect. One of them was in a small wooded section of the land, just outside the west exit. The exact opposite of where the mines are, but the trip back and forth should't be too annoying. The town's pretty lively and nice to walk through anyways. Syn turned the screen outward so her new party members could see, and turned to face them. "What do you think?" She asked, showing them the article on the wooded area. The area was just a simple non-dungeon area, with some sort of passive pixie monsters, and tree beasts. Apparently there were some higher level random spawns, but was programmed so it only happened later on in the game when people were more advanced. It should be perfectly safe place to practice.

((guys. Really. Write moreee its PARAGRAPH style for Pete's sake.)
Syn nodded. "Alright then, lets get going." She rotated the holographic screen to face her once more, and closed all the windows except for a map in which she set a way-point to the wooded area. She began walking away from the town center, and to one of the main directional roads, this one specifically leading West. She twisted her katars slightly, adjusting the straps so they fit more snugly against her arm. She turned slightly to see if they were following, and after confirming so, slowed down to walk beside them. Syn wanted to say something, but found nothing to say.

Siph also wanted to say something, as the trudged along through the thinning crowd, the narrowing streets, smaller buildings. The detail in this game made it seem so realistic. She could live here. It would be better than real life. But she had two hours in here. This was the time she had to put thee real world aside and enjoy. She opened a small screen to look at the time. Ten minutes have passed. She slowly accelerated her step, smoothly enough so that her two companions did not realize their acceleration as they all walked alongside each other. It was a bit awkward to walk this quietly, so she decided to make some small talk. "So, where are we from?" she asked.

Mal followed behind the other two members of the party. He considered attempting to pick the pocket of some passers-by, but he didn't have any ability to do that in this game. How did this game handle that sort of thing, anyway? He hadn't read the instructions very carefully. Or at all. Or, in fact, found any instructions on how the game worked.
Siph asked a question and Mal pulled himself back to the here and now. "I am from Russia, in the real world. Yourself?"

"America." Syn replied rather quickly, stretching her arms above her head as they approached the "wooded area". They were no longer in the city, she had no reason to hide her weapons. There were other parties out here, obviously, but it was quite rare for the system to put more then one party in a Channel, seeing how they were meant to stop kill steals from opposite parties and such. Not that it wasn't unlikely, seeing how there is an absurd number of buyers for this game, and that a lot of them would be quite eager to play it as soon as they got on. The entrance to the wooded was a large nature-made (cough cough program generated) tree tunnel, with vines draping over, creating a thick curtain-like entrance. The vines had blooming pale violet flowers, glowing slightly. Flowers bloomed in the grass around the forest, giving it an "enchanted woods" look, which it quite obviously was. Syn's eyes widened slightly. She had seen the photos but it was quite impressive. "wow." She said simply, glancing around while deactivating her cloak to increase maneuverability. Most wood-beasts were nimble little critters, and they could be a pain if they got caught in your equipment. Besides, the cloak was for stealing and disguise, but he cloak really doesn't do its job in a glowing forest.
((feel free to add a bit more to the setting. This is all I really came up with))

"They do such a good job on the scenry in these types of games," agreed Pasiphae. She trotted around, excitedly taking it all in. The feeling of the soft layer of moss beneeath her hooves was so nice. It reminded her a little of a place she explored once in South America. "I'm from New Zealand, by the way." she remembered, getting ready to hear "Where's New Zealand", especially from the young American. She equipped her large, wooden non-returning boomerang, witch appeared slung across her back. Non-returning boomerangs had always struck her as rather un-impressive, but on one of the pictures she's seen in an ad for the game- it was tiny, really- she noticed a metal boomerang. That ad was likely largely responsible for influencing her descision to buy this game, and she swore to herself that one day she will ither find or make such a boomerang.

Mal takes in the sights without comment. The game designers had done a superbly realistic job with the graphics, but he had never liked the look of deciduous forests. Perhaps he would travel northward after gaining a few levels, and see how the designers had handled the taiga forests and the mountains... Anyway, the squirrels, he told himself, were sickeningly cute and he should stop watching them.

"Ah, nice. Good to know people from other areas of the world." Syn nodded, a small genuine smile growing on her lips. Wonder where they live looks like, she thought, slightly wandering off in her thoughts. Coming back to reality, she shook her head and focused back on game. "Sooo.... sickeningly cute creatures or wood beasts?" She asked. The wood beasts were higher level and immediately 'aggroed' on you but the sickeningly cute creatures are.... well weak and sickeningly cute. Like really SICKeningly cute. Disturbingly cute may be more appropriate. They have BUG eyes for Pete's sake. BUG EYES. Shuddering slightly, she spoke to her companions. "I personally prefer the latter."

"Ah, I don't mind much... I'd just prefer to go easy on my first battle- I don't want to start with a defeat.' said Siph. Sickeningly cute..? What could that possibly mean?

"Where are they going?" a typical question uttered out of Satosen's virtual lips. The two players kept their fast pace for almost 5 minutes now, zigzagging through alleys and NPC shops, and now they were walking further into the Forest of Buildings than Satosen ever knew existed. He was following them to their main base. It was no wonder that they would pick such a complicated route. Did that mean that they knew that he was following? Satosen's train of thought was interrupted when the lower-leveled of the two players spoke up. "So..what do I have to do to become one of you? Don't I need to be a certain level, or be some sort of class?". "Nah man, nothing that tedious. You'll understand once you get there." Satosen stopped in his virtual tracks. "An initiation? Aren't Guilds supposed to be regulated and approved by the GMs?" Satosen thought aloud. It didn't make any sense. A guild that was intent on making a gaming community toxic would be instantly taken care of by the community managers. Satosen didn't have time to continue pondering, as the two players had stopped in front of what seemed to be an portal-less building. He watched the higher-leveled player make a motion, and a in-game menu appeared. The player began pressing on what looked like a number pad. Satosen squinted his eyes, he saw the player's fingers hover over what seemed to be 4-2-6-9. The portal-less building's door sprite disappeared, allowing the two players to walk in. Satosen didn't dare move any closer until the door sprite rebuilt itself. *B-beep* There it goes. Satosen moved from his hiding place and walked towards the building. He stopped at the door. What was the motion did that one player do? Satosen waved his arm imitating the player before him. *Bink* The numeral digits appeared once more. Satosen hesitated when he was about to input the numbers. Had he looked carefully enough? Does the password vary from player to player? What if he got it wrong? Would he be locked out? Satosen shook away his doubts. Nothing would be gained without trying. He had to stop hesitating. He inputed the numbers he thought he saw. 4....2.....6.....9. He could even feel his pulse rising every number he pressed. *B-bink* The door disappeared, leaving a black, door-shaped portal in it's place. Satosen stepped in, letting the darkness shroud him, and felt the door behind him reappear.
